About F-1

Full 1mpact(c)  was founded in 2009 by Micah W. Larsen.  With only three people meeting once a month to discuss the myths of modern masculinity, Full 1mpact began to grow into something much larger.  The conversation about modern masculinity and the myths behind much of what young boys learn about true manhood turned into a mission to educate men about truths and falsities surrounding the movement of modern masculinity.  We believe all men have a journey that is improperly mapped and we wish to help guys map out their journey.

Full 1mpact has frequent educational seminars based out of the Pasadena, Los Angeles area and covers a multitude of important topics that educate men in all areas of their lives. With over ten years of research in the field of self-development, coaching, and masculinity studies, Full 1mpact thrives to push men to a higher level.  Better men make better Fathers, sons, brothers, and lovers

  2. Dear Micah Larsen,

“Many men say to me they literally don’t know what the word man means, nor whether they are grown men or not.” In a society stripped of myth, ritual, and guidance from male mentors, eminent translator and poet laureate Robert Bly addresses the devastating effects of remote fathers and defends the necessity of male initiation rites in our culture.

A seminal work in gender studies that catapulted the mythopoetic men’s movement, Robert Bly’s Iron John: A Book About Men explores masculinity through folklore, psychology, anthropology, personal work with men, and the Grimm fairy tale “Iron John”—in which a “wild man” guides a young man through eight stages of male development.

Originally published in 1990, the 25th anniversary edition of Iron John includes a new afterword from the author. As a #1 New York Times bestseller translated into a dozen languages, Bly’s work still resonates as a formative text in the ongoing discussion of what it means to be male or female.

As a prominent online magazine for men’s studies, Full 1mpact would be of help in the following ways: reviewing the book on your website or blog, posting the book cover on your website, and/or spreading the word via social media. Information on Iron John can be found at http://www.dacapopress.com/book/paperback/iron-john/9780306824265. Have a look, and—if you’d like a copy—let me know the best address to send to and I’ll get a copy in the mail tonight.

Robert Bly has been an major influence in the studies of Masculinity I’ve done in the past and I would love to talk to you more. I will email you my private email and we can go from there!
